Not exactly what I had planned for today's snap! A bit of fun went wrong over lunch and James accidently got poked in the eye with a twig by his friend Toby - complete and total accident, but it seemed to have caused a little bleed in J's eye, so I bundled Claud back to Sally's then headed off to A&E with J. Luckily it was pretty empty, so we were seen quickly. A lot of umming and ahhing was done, the senior doctor was called over, the specialists at King's were called, orange dye was put into J's eye (much to his disgust). It is scratched, but not badly, and will be fine. He has antibiotic drops to put in, 4 times a day for 5 days - aargh! The first attempt was not a success - I am covered in bruises from all the kicking that was done to try and stop me putting it in! We have instigated a bribe chart and rewards per drop, so hopefully that will work!
Interestingly, J's letter recognition was pretty good when they were checking his distance vision, but I notice they used capital letters, which surprised me given it's a specialist paediatric A&E. He didn't like trying to do the letters with only one eye though, regardless of which eye it was - "I need both eyes mummy!"
